Despu\u00e9s de una semana estresante de deberes acad\u00e9micos y profesionales, los estudiantes y profesores a menudo necesitan un momento divertido para relajarse y seguir aprendiendo. Pero, \u00bfqu\u00e9 podr\u00eda ser entretenido sin dejar el ingl\u00e9s de lado? Una de las respuestas m\u00e1s usuales: ver una pel\u00edcula mientras disfrutas de deliciosas palomitas de ma\u00edz.<\/p>\n

Usar pel\u00edculas para relajarse es una actividad que les encanta tanto a los estudiantes como a los maestros. A veces hace parte de un elaborado conjunto de actividades planificadas, y otras es simplemente una opci\u00f3n de \u00faltima hora a falta de tiempo para planear detalladamente; pero de cualquier modo, las pel\u00edculas son una estrategia com\u00fan de ense\u00f1anza y siempre queremos sacar el m\u00e1ximo provecho de su uso.<\/p>\n

\u00bfCon qu\u00e9 frecuencia consideramos la importancia del cine en los procesos de aprendizaje de idiomas?<\/p>\n

Si eres fan\u00e1tico de las pel\u00edculas en el aula, ya debes haber pensado en estos u otros beneficios de las pel\u00edculas en el \u00e1mbito pedag\u00f3gico. Seg\u00fan un art\u00edculo publicado por la revista Theory and Practice in Language Studies<\/em>, los estudiantes que exploran pel\u00edculas tienen una mayor motivaci\u00f3n, lo que potencia su aprendizaje en cuatro aspectos: habilidades ling\u00fc\u00edsticas, autenticidad, aprendizaje aut\u00f3nomo y cultura. Los participantes del estudio demostraron un progreso significativo en fluidez, pronunciaci\u00f3n y vocabulario, incluyendo una mejora en sus habilidades de escritura a trav\u00e9s del uso de subt\u00edtulos. \u00a0El mundo cinematogr\u00e1fico ofrece un enfoque de la comunicaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s aut\u00e9ntico en comparaci\u00f3n con los materiales de aprendizaje tradicionales. Las pel\u00edculas son una rica fuente de expresiones cotidianas que se pueden utilizar en el entorno de los alumnos; y tambi\u00e9n pueden aumentar la motivaci\u00f3n, eliminando la “obligaci\u00f3n” de realizar una tarea, y haciendo que el fluir de la lecci\u00f3n sea m\u00e1s atractivo y agradable, generando as\u00ed una participaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s significativa y comunicativa.<\/p>\n

Finalmente, el lenguaje trae consigo la cultura que se encuentra detr\u00e1s de las sociedades que la utilizan, dejando un rastro ineludible de ese ADN cultural. De tal modo, el uso de pel\u00edculas para el aprendizaje contribuye al desarrollo de habilidades ling\u00fc\u00edsticas al tiempo que posiciona al alumno en un entorno m\u00e1s enriquecido y contextualizado.Es decir, los clips de pel\u00edculas bien seleccionados, permiten a los profesores acercarse al idioma objetivo en su contexto nativo y explorar sus componentes culturales.<\/p>\n

Son muchas las ventajas de utilizar pel\u00edculas para el aprendizaje de idiomas, pero su adaptaci\u00f3n al curr\u00edculo debe ser un proceso cuidadoso. Debe ser llevado a cabo de tal manera que siempre se encuentren los claramente beneficios cognitivos y objetivos de aprendizaje. Con las pel\u00edculas, cualquier clase puede volverse m\u00e1s productiva y motivadora, lo que aumenta la participaci\u00f3n y el \u00e9xito de los estudiantes.<\/p>\n

What's a solution.? Watch a movie while enjoying delicious Popcorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using movies to relax is an activity both students and teachers love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, it's part of an elaborate set of planned activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other times, it's an afterthought or an easy way out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way, movies are a commonly used alternative, but without a doubt, we want to get the most out of their use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How often do we consider the importance of the seventh art in language learning processes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an article published by the journal of Theory and Practice in Language Studies, students who use films have a higher motivation which enhances their learning in four aspects: language skills, authenticity, autonomous learning, and culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your answer to the question above is yes, you must have thought about these or other benefits of films in the pedagogical field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, regarding language skills, the study revealed that the participants reported progress in fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Including an improvement in their writing skills through the use of subtitles. (Albiladi & Abdeen, 2018)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although not all languages in movies are used in everyday life, they offer a more authentic approach to the language compared to static learning materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movies are a rich source of expressions that are more natural and usable in the immediate environment of the material with authenticity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because they are closer and more authentic to the student, it increases motivation and removes the \"obligation\" of performing a task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also makes the flow of the lesson more inviting and pleasant. Therefore, generating a more significant, communicative involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the language does not come alone. It brings with it the culture behind the societies that use it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These features leave an inescapable trail of cultural DNA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using movies for learning contributes to the development of linguistic skills. It also positions the learner in a more enriched environment that provides tools to approach the target language globally, besides considering its cultural components. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many advantages of utilizing movies for lessons, but their adaptation into the curriculum must be a careful process. And must be carried out in such a way that there are benefits and clear objectives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
